1995 Nissan Altima
Due to its strong sales record in just three years after it was introduced, Nissan
decided to introduce its new model of the Altima. The 1995 Nissan Altima was branded
by Nissan as an "affordable luxury". It offers much luxury at a price more affordable
than most of the sedans of its competitors
The 1995 Nissan Altima is available in four trim levels: XE, GXE, SE, and GLE.
The 5-speed manual transmission is standard for the XE, GXE, and SE models. The
GLE, on the other hand, has a standard 4-speed automatic transmission. The 4-speed
automatic transmission is also available as an option for the XE, GXE, and XE.
The Altima is noted for its superior driving quality. It was engineered to have
excellent handling traits that could be appreciated by drivers, old and new alike.
Aside from power steering, it has what its engineers would call "Super Toe control"
rear suspension that maintains optimum rear tire alignment during driving maneuvers.
Although not as spacious as the mid-size sedans of the competitors, it has a
lot of luxury to offer. The luxurious interior features includes tilt steering
wheel, rear defroster, cupholders, lockable glove box, dual visor vanity mirrors,
cut-pile carpeting, adjustable headrests, and remote releases for trunk, hood
and fuel filter door. A variety of sound systems are also available for greater
comfort.

The exterior of the Altima is just as luxurious as its interiors. For its 1995
model, new grille, taillamps, badging and five new colors are added.
Aside from its not-so-spacious interior, another disadvantage of the Altima,
or advantage if you are for fuel economy, is its 2.4 liter 16 valve four cylinder
engine. It lacks the smoothness, verve and performance of other sedans that uses
the V6 engine. On the other hand, its engine offers good low speed torque. It
is also an advantage for people who are so conscious of fuel economy.
