2005 Nissan Altima
The 2005 Nissan Altima is the next major redesign for the Altima since 2002.
In its redesign, it offers added power to the already powerful V6 engine. Minor
styling revisions were seen, but it was introduced with new interior materials
and with added features. Two new trim models were also introduced and another
transmission option.
The 2005 Nissan Altima has added another 5 horsepower to its already powerful
V6 engine. This added horsepower gives it a boost to have the most powerful engine
in its class. The added power for the V6 also comes with added transmission choice,
the five-speed automatic transmission. The existing 5-speed manual transmission
was redesigned to have a reduced shift effort and the 4-speed automatic transmission
now features the "auto-hold" function to reduce shift hunting on rough roads.
The 2005 Nissan Altima comes in six trim levels: 2.5, 2.5S, 2.5SE, 3.5SE and
the two new models, 3.5SL and 3.5SE-R. The 2.5, 2.5S, and 2.5SL models come with
the 4 cylinder engine, while the 3.5SE, 3.5SL and the 3.5SE-R models come with
the V6 engine. The new 3.5SL is equipped with luxury features while the 3.5SE-R
have the 3.5SE features but is more sporty.
Added features for the 3.5SE-R includes 18-inches wheels, higher performance
tires, firmer suspension, a deeper front fascia and rear spoiler. Interior renovations
for 2005 include the new instrument panel and new center console. Different materials
are fitted to provide new trim finishes as well as new materials for the seats
and headliner. It also introduces a new DVD-based navigation system.

control. Minor revisions were also made with the exterior design. Revisions include
changes to the hood, new smoked headlights and taillights, and a new grille. It
